How did you get started?
I have been creating from a young age. I learned to sew at 10 years old and I 
haven't stopped since. In college I studied art, art history, fashion design and interior design (kept on going back for more!). I started in the craft industry about 4 years ago when I started making and selling children's quiet books from my own (much simpler) patterns. I quickly learned that I would rather be making something new and different every time than recreating the same thing over and over and over! When I added quilting to my life I was finally all "pieced" together. I love making quilt patterns and coming up with new and exciting ideas. This is the perfect blend for me and I feel blessed every day!
Why The Quilted Fish?
I am a Herring, that's why! I married a wonderful man, who I lovingly call Mr. Fish, and whose last name happened to be Herring. When it came time to select a name for my business we went through hundreds of ideas finally settling on The Quilted Fish.
